Hypothalamic-Pituitary Malfunction

Both the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus get blood supply from a ring of arteries called “The Circle of Willis”, a major branch of the vertebro-basilar arteries. Impaired blood flow to this vital area of the brain can cause serious health problem.
Thyroid Malfunction :

The thyroid glands are located in front of the neck. Iodine absorbed in the gut is transported to the thyroid glands where the cells manufacture and release the thyroid hormones. Both the synthesis and secretion of thyroid hormones are controlled by the pituitary hormone called the thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH). So if the body needs more thyroid hormones the hypothalamus, sensing the deficiency, will signal the pituitary gland to secrete TSH, kick start the manufacturing process and release it.

Functions of thyroid hormones are quite simple. These hormones penetrate all cells of the body and help to generate energy. They facilitate “burning” ofglucose and thus increase the metabolic rate. The more glucose you burn the more energy you get. If thyroid secretion is less, the metabolic rate drops, the body slows down. The excess glucose, which is available through digestion, will then get deposited as fat and patients will experience weight gain, cold hands and feet, feel hot and cold, hair loss, low blood pressure, depression, dry skin, constipation and chronic fatigue. The normal solution is to prescribe Thyroxin, the synthetic thyroid hormone, which helps with fatigue, low blood pressure, abnormal heat sensation etc but does not change the weight. That is because the fat deposited all over the body is hormonal white cellulite fat and not  dietary yellow fat, which “burns off” very easily. People did not eat extra to gain this weight, as it is just that there was a fault that resulted in the reduction of the metabolic rate.

There are other causes of thyroid malfunction. Lack of iodine in diet causes poor synthesis of thyroid hormones. The TSH makes the gland swell up but the thyroid hormones secretion is poor. The large swelling of thyroid gland is called goiter.
Excessive production of thyroid hormones which is a “panic state” of Hypothalamic-Pituitary complex, causes muscular tension, increased metabolism, flushing, excessive body heat, increased heart rate, panic attacks, anxiety, restlessness, mood swings, excessive sweating and weight loss. Despite the increased activity of the thyroid the body feels totally exhausted. The person feels as if he or she has run a marathon. For more about healing visit at : http://goo.gl/dkHp28
